My Stress Style
There are 3 common responses to stress: the fight, flight, and freeze response.
When I am stressed, I have the tendency to take flight. I become very depressed, I isolate myself, and I check out mentally. I am trying a regimen of massage, walking (or when I'm in better shape jogging), and journaling to help me find relief. JOURNAL PROMPT #1
WHAT DO I LOVE MOST ABOUT MYSELF TODAY?
It is hard today. Today I am struggling with loving myself. I am feeling mommy burnout; I have been feeling this way for awhile. Now I am going to do something about it because it is affecting my relationship with my husband and my child. I am trying to find my own identity outside of being a mom, but my process is wrong. I can't just checkout mentally and just ignore my problems, I need to find ways to stay present with my family; no more "taking flight" when I am stressed. No more isolating myself, I will lean on my people that are in my corner.
I need to be a good example for my daughter. I don't want her to have my response to stress.
